• 20 Weird Logos That Work (and Why They Do) I don't remember my own logo ever previously being referred to as "weird." Well, VECTORTUTS has now done so in a piece written by designer Chris Spooner. I'm glad they think the design works.
I'm taking a quick look back at the last couple months before starting out the new year. Jeff Fisher LogoMotives has been mentioned and spotted online quite a bit recently. Here's the latest from the cyber-world:
• 40 Playful Logos Kreative Garden includes my designs for the Cat Adoption Team and the theatrical production 2 Boys in a Bed on a Cold winter's Night in this fun collection of international identities.
• How 20 designers charge their clients Designer David Airey, located in Northern Ireland, asked 20 international designers three questions about their financial practices. The answers provide great advice for any design professional.
• Logo design evolution I don't think that I can seriously be considered a "live legend of logo design," but I do appreciate the mention of my own logo design evolution on the DTP-Design site. The entry features the evolution of logos for a number of major corporations and Internet entities.
"The veterans of the logo design industry have achieved their success for a reason. Sure, it's partially due to the years of practice, blood, sweat, tears and inky fingers. But mainly, it's because they stuck to the ten solid-gold principles of world class logo design.
One of the principles is contributed by your truly.
The industry online presence VECTORTUTS - a blog of tutorials, articles, freebies and more on all things vector - has included input from Jeff Fisher LogoMotives in the article 10 Principles of the Logo Design Masters. The piece, written by Chris Spooner of SpoonGraphics, lists the "K.I.S.S. Principle" as Jeff Fisher's contribution to the methods used by ten identity designers from around the world.
